Made of glazed sheet metal, which makes it easy to handle. There is a drainage hole in the bottom that prevents the plants from being overwatered. This hole can be closed with a plastic cap supplied if desired, but this doesn't make it 100% watertight, so leaks can occur. Over time, a patina will develop on the surface.
