The new tabletop series from the blomus design team not only has typical Japanese forms, which reflect the minimalist design language of the everyday objects in the blomus range, it also has a fascinating - but very traditional Japanese - reactive glaze. This effect glaze develops differently with each firing and reacts to the slightest changes in the oxygen in the kiln atmosphere. This semi-matt glaze may have inclusions and imperfections, it may get scratched because it is a very soft surface â but this is not damage, just part of this sophisticated manufacturing process. Hence the name Kumi, which is derived from the Japanese word for eternal beauty.
